Launch models are expected to use M5 Pro and M5 Max. A second generation reportedly jumps straight to M7 in late 2027 or early 2028.
A hole-punch camera replaces the notch.

Dropping mini-LED slims the chassis, with a reinforced hinge for touch.
Apple has reportedly considered its own C2 modem.
Mass production is expected by late 2026, with the later window looking more likely. Pricing is expected to sit above today’s MacBook Pro.
